Pre-order is now open for Citizend’s full-length album Doomsville.

Swedish duo Citizend will release their debut full-length album
DoomsVille on Majestic Mountain Records on November 13. The album
follows the band’s 2024 debut EP The Spiral (also released on Majestic
Mountain Records).

Citizend was formed by Emil Gustavsson and Otto Nilsson in 2022 and
works at the intersection of doom-tinged-rock, cinematic sphagetti western
and gloomy folk. A genre that has been called Noirmericana.

DoomsVille is a concept album in which each song depicts a character or
phenomenon within the same fictional setting, and the band approaches it as
a single, continuous work rather than a collection of individual tracks.

DoomsVille is the album, the story, and the place - a work at the intersection
of music and literature. Where grimy industrialism meets spur-clad boots
in scorched deserts. A story with one foot in the Wild West and the other in
a dark future. A reflection of our own era’s blind faith in new technology’s
empty promise of answers to all human challenges.

DoomsVille is conceived as a multidisciplinary work, bringing together
music, literature, poetry and visual art. Alongside the album, a western/
fantasy short story written by author Fredrik Persson Winter (The Badger)
is released by Kraxa Förlag (swedish only). The story will be available in
three formats, print, e-book and audiobook, and is integrated directly into
the album’s release where each single from DoomsVille is paired with a
corresponding audiobook chapter, allowing listeners to follow the music and
the narrative in parallel.

In the writing process of the album Citizend has been influenced by Nick
